Indianapolis-based singer, songwriter, and musician Kim Kenny has been performing for as long as she can remember. Encouraged by her parents, she began singing and playing the piano in the family’s church when she was just eight years old. She credits gospel music as being the foundation of her soulful sound. As a child, Kim could often be found on the piano singing and composing her own songs. As a performer, Kim has proudly shared the stage with artists such as Lamar Campbell, Sandi Patty, Madonna, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, Mandy Gonzalez from “Hamilton!”, Common, The Zach Brown Band as well as wowed the audience of the Steve Harvey Show with her acapella rendition of “His Eye is on the Sparrow”.

In her teenage years, she released an EP entitled “In Your Presence” followed by studying classical voice that landed her a full ride scholarship to Marian University pursing Vocal Performance. While in college, Kim balanced school work along with a budding professional singing career. At 19, Kim first showcased her unique sound, nationally, with a televised performance on Amateur Night at the famed Apollo Theater in New York. The following year she also released a gospel album called “More than a Conqueror”. Upon graduating from Marian University, she emerged in the field of education as piano accompanist, a choir teacher and currently pursing her Master's degree in vocal performance  with an emphasis in Opera.

Deeming music education as one of her greatest passions, Kim has several years of teaching experience and avidly serves the music community of Indianapolis in various capacities ranging from Music Director to Vocal Coach. Kim launched her “Teach Me How to Sing Voice Studio” in 2016. In 2018, she founded Indy Urban Youth dedicated to providing music education and performing arts based curriculum for young artist ages 8 to 19. Kim balances her multi-faceted career all while being a mom to her beautiful daughter, Charity.
